Life In The Rush House
Turns out – boys and girls are different. For our 14th anniversary, I gave Crystal a love note and had 14 roses delivered to her school. She gave me a Sonic gift card and a new David Baldacci book. We were both thrilled!

Are we bad parents for forgetting to leave money from the Tooth Fairy under Mason’s pillow…two nights in a row? We made the same mistake with Emma when she was little. When the Tooth Fairy finally did come, she left a note explaining that her “fairy toddler” had had the flu. I guess we’ve got some creative explaining to do.

Our third grader loves to read so much that he is giving up two recesses a week to be in a book club with only girls! Nerdy or brilliant? I say brilliant…for more than one reason!

I left an IOU one night with Zane, on behalf of the tooth fairy. I had absolutely no change or dollars. I considered leaving a check, but decided at the last minute against it.
Hhmmm, one of your sons doing something nerdy with a creative angle to meet girls. . .I can’t imagine where he got that from. . . .
The tooth fairy is so undependable in our house that the joke is “Well, guess we have to fire that one, too, huh?” My kids keep a running total of how many teeth I’m still behind on and sometime when they least expect it, I’ll shove some money under their pillows to “catch up.”
Toothfairy-ing just doesn’t seem to be my spiritual gift or maternal gift.
I have only forgot to do it one time…..but will never forget again!! She cried for 45 minutes! ouch!!
Dusty, We always told the kids the tooth fairy said she can only fit in Mondays and Wednesdays this week, obviously fitting in the days that were still open in the week! We miss you. Kari
You really are bad people. I always knew it.
Oh, wait–we forgot once, too. Don’t worry about it. It’s covered under grace. You’re great.
